Annie & Tyler / The story behind the film

Close to home.
Close to everyone they love.

Annie and Tyler celebrated at a private family home on a lake in North Georgia with about 65 guests. The smaller gathering made the entire wedding feel personal and connected. Every part of the day belonged to the setting, from their first look on the dock to the last light stretching across the water.

It was a beautiful reminder that intimacy can give a wedding its own kind of energy. The people Annie and Tyler loved most were gathered in one meaningful place, and there was room to notice the laughter, the dogs wandering through the day, and all the small interactions that made the celebration feel like theirs.

A first look on the dock

Annie and Tyler shared their first look on a dock by the lake. With the water surrounding them and the family home nearby, the moment felt quiet, natural, and completely at home in the landscape.

The lake remained part of the visual story throughout the day. It gave us changing light, open views, and a sense of calm that balanced the excitement of the celebration. By evening, the sunset was absolutely gorgeous and gave the film one more unforgettable view of the place where they began married life.

A boathouse ceremony led by a family friend

The ceremony took place on the upper dock of the boathouse, overlooking the lake. A close family friend officiated, adding another personal connection to a wedding already shaped by family and home.

There is something special about hearing a ceremony led by someone who truly knows the couple. The words carry a history and familiarity that cannot be recreated, and preserving that voice became an important part of telling Annie and Tyler’s story.

Handwritten letters for every guest

Annie created the stationery herself through Pat Paper Co. and wrote a letter by hand to every guest. Each note was waiting at its recipient’s seat—a generous detail that made all 65 people feel personally included in the day.

Those letters said so much about the spirit of the wedding. Annie and Tyler were not only gathering their favorite people; they were taking time to tell each person what their presence meant. It made the reception feel even more intimate and gave the celebration a layer of care that extended beyond the couple.

Dinner, music, doodles, and sunset by the lake

The reception was held beneath a tent on the patio overlooking the water. It was gorgeous, especially as the daylight softened and the sunset arrived across the lake. Atlanta Wedding Band brought the party to life with a smaller ensemble that was perfect for the setting.

I have worked with members of the band many times in different arrangements, and they were awesome once again. The celebration was lively without losing the closeness of the gathering. Even the many doodles at the home became part of the fun, adding to the relaxed, joyful feeling of the day.

Annie and Tyler’s wedding was intimate, beautiful, and incredibly fun. What stays with me is how naturally everything came together: a family home, a close circle of guests, deeply personal details, and two people celebrating beside the lake as the sun went down.
